Librarian
Genevieve Gore, our Liaison Librarian for our department has office hours on site every first Monday of the month from 1:30-4:30 PM in room 325. If you would like to make an appointment with her, please email her at genevieve.gore@mcgill.ca . She will also accept “walk-in” or “sans-rendez-vous” appointments during this time as well.
Textbooks on loan
Did you know that there is a dedicated reserve in the Jewish General Hospital’s library for Family Medicine graduate textbooks? Check it out in the A pavillion, room 200 (enter from Cote-des-Neiges on the corner of Cote-Ste-Catherine and up one flight of stairs).
Post Graduate Student Society
Mandatory human research ethics training
All McGill students (undergraduate, graduate, postdoctoral), faculty and staff must have completed the Tri-Council Policy Statement2 (TCPS2) online tutorial BEFORE submitting an application for research ethics review or a renewal request. Supervisors of student applicants will also be required to complete the tutorial before submission for review. To complete the online tutorial go to the TCPS2 Course on Research Ethics (CORE) website (http://www.pre.ethics.gc.ca/eng/education/tutorial-didacticiel/) and create an account selecting McGill as your institution and using your McGill email address. Completion can then be verified online by the REB office. You will also be able to print a certificate of completion for your records. The tutorial is available in English and French.
Funding application resources
Most funding applications will require a version of a Canadian CV (CCV). In the past, FMGSS has encouraged students to maintain their CV using Uniweb, which is a free service provided to all McGill students and staff. Uniweb will export your CV into a variety of formats, with frequent updates to incorporate any recent formatting changes for the CV.
